At the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education, we are leaders in railway science and education. With over 130 academics, researchers and professional support staff, we deliver world class research and thought leadership within railways, and offer an expanding portfolio of high-quality education programmes. Our close relationships with the rail industry mean that our research and teaching draws in real-world situations. By studying in depth what is happening across the world's railways, we prepare our graduates for the challenges of the future.
DI Transport (Danish Transport Federation) is an association of transport companies under the umbrella of the Confederation of Danish Industries. It comprises app. 3000 companies within various transport sectors, such as cargo and logistics, aviation, bus and rail and port operations. DI Transport promotes the key role of transport as primer for mobility and accessibility in a globalised world.

The Innovation Network Femern Belt (IFB) is a collaboration between four national innovation networks in Denmark which work towards creating permanent innovation, jobs and economic growth in companies that work on building the Femern Belt Fixed link between Denmark and Germany. IFB is financed by the Region of Zealand and the Danish Agency for Institutions and Educational Grants, which is part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. The four innovation networks behind IFB are: Service platform, at the Think tank DEA, InnoBYG, at the Danish Technological Institute, CLEAN and the Danish Transport Innovation Network at MDC (Maritime Development Center).
Forum for Nordic Railway Cooperation
NJS, Forum for Nordic Railway Cooperation, is a network of individuals and organisations with professional attachments to the Nordic railway sector. The aim is to develop the members' professional skills and knowledge, and promote an active network in the Nordic railway industry. NJS arranges "go home" meetings on current topics and publishes NJT, the leading Nordic railway journal.
Sweden has been in the forefront when it comes to restructuring and transforming of the state railways into efficient business oriented units designed to meet the customer requirements and the competition with other means of transport. This process has also contributed to the development of strong market oriented Swedish suppliers of products and services within the railway sector. In this environment leading Swedish companies covering the whole railway sector have founded SWERIG – Swedish Rail Industry Group. SWERIG is an organization with the major aim to initiate, co- ordinate and administrate joint marketing activities for the group on selected export markets.
The Transport Innovation Network (TINV) is a national, cross disciplinary network aimed at the Danish Transport sector. The primary objectives of TINV are to create synergy, encourage match-making and generate research and development projects between stakeholders in the transport sector and research- and educational institutions, as well as related sectors such as energy and infrastructure.
TØF – The Danish Society of Transport Economics – is an independent association. The association is a professional forum across all modes of transport where knowledge, experience and management skills are exchanged and disseminated. This covers transport politics, logistics, value changes, transport engineering and transport economics as well as research and training. Since its founding in 1969, TØF has obtained a central position as a discussion forum and first mover for an educated debate on transportation.
